為了更有效地傳承澳門街道的豐富歷史文化底蘊，民政總署於2011年正式開展“街道研究計劃”，冀能集結豐碩的成果，向市民推廣澳門街道的往事趣聞。除出版導賞小冊子、口袋型小書和研究專著，以及籌辦多元化的宣傳推廣活動外，民署積極建構“漫步澳門街”手機應用程式，與市民分享豐富的街道資料和今昔照片，一同感受街道風情。

With an intention to familiarize locals with historical tidbits behind the streets of Macao, IACM had officially launched the “Street-based Research Project” in 2011. The abundant findings have been used for publication of street guide booklets, pocket-books, research monographs. The “Taking a Walk through the Streets of Macao” application is underway, with a vision to share online information about different streets and their photos of the present and past.
